About Mantis

I write and photograph to slow myself down. It’s a way of making sense of the world’s texture — the small things, the pauses between moments, and the traces that stay after things move on.

Over time I’ve come to think that quick reactions blur more than they reveal. Attention slows everything down.

When a moment is given space, its edges return; observation becomes a way of internalising rather than reacting. It lets experience settle into something clearer — something that can be understood instead of simply met with instinct.

Mantis, the Greek word for the seer, is where that practice lives. It isn’t a portfolio, but rather a record of attention — an effort to move through the world with a steadier sense of presence.
